Bihar: Voting for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections is underway, with over 60% turnout recorded till 3 PM across 122 constituencies. Exit polls will be released after voting concludes at 6:30 PM. Pre-election opinion polls have largely predicted a victory for the NDA alliance in the state.
However, trends from the last three Assembly elections (2010, 2015, and 2020) suggest that survey agencies have often failed to accurately gauge voter sentiment. In 2015, most exit polls projected a lead for the NDA (BJP+), but the Grand Alliance (RJD-JDU-Congress) secured a clear majority in the final results.
The scenario flipped in 2020. That year, several agencies predicted a win for the Grand Alliance, but the NDA defied expectations by winning 125 seats and forming the government—once again proving most exit polls wrong.
This time, the state has witnessed elections across 243 seats in two phases. The first phase, covering 121 seats, recorded a voter turnout of 65%. The results will be declared on November 14.
