Jaipur: The heartbreaking death of 9-year-old Amayra, who jumped from the fourth floor of Jaipur’s prestigious Neerja Modi School, has sparked widespread grief and outrage across Rajasthan.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on Tuesday visited the girl’s home in Murlipura to console the bereaved family. She expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and assured the family that the state government would conduct a transparent and impartial investigation, promising that “those found guilty will not be spared.”
The family reportedly informed Diya Kumari about the school management’s uncooperative attitude during the probe. The Deputy CM said the government would ensure strict action if the school’s negligence is proven.
Earlier, on November 2, Education Minister Madan Dilawar also met Amayra’s family, calling the incident a reflection of the education system’s insensitivity. He directed officials to verify how the school was granted its NOC and CBSE affiliation.
Meanwhile, sources from the Education Department alleged that when the district inquiry team reached the school, they were made to wait outside for over an hour. The department is considering revoking the school’s recognition if found guilty of misconduct.
Police investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the child’s death. According to reports, Amayra was allegedly under mental stress due to a teacher’s inappropriate behavior. Parents’ associations and child rights groups have condemned the incident as a failure of school safety systems and demanded swift justice.
