Full Emergency at Delhi Airport as IndiGo Flight Makes Safe Landing After Engine Failure

Engine Failure Triggers Emergency at Delhi Airport

An IndiGo flight faced a mid-air engine failure on Saturday, prompting authorities to declare a full emergency at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The aircraft was en route from Visakhapatnam when the technical issue occurred shortly before landing.

Safe Landing Ensures Passenger Safety

The pilot followed safety protocols and landed the aircraft using a single engine. Around 160 passengers on board remained safe, and emergency teams were deployed immediately after the alert. No injuries or damage were reported, officials confirmed.

Emergency Protocols Activated Promptly

Airport authorities activated standard emergency procedures, including deploying fire tenders and clearing the runway. The aircraft, a Boeing 737 leased from a Turkish airline, landed safely, and passengers were evacuated without panic.
