India on Tuesday strongly condemned Pakistan’s alleged airstrike on a hospital in Kabul, calling it a “cowardly” and “barbaric” act. The Ministry of External Affairs said targeting a medical facility is unjustifiable under any circumstances.
Massive Casualties Reported
According to Afghan authorities, the strike killed around 400 people and injured nearly 250 others. The attack reportedly hit a large drug rehabilitation hospital, causing widespread destruction and civilian casualties.
Timing During Ramzan Raises Concern
India highlighted that the attack occurred during the holy month of Ramzan, making it even more reprehensible. The government stressed that such violence contradicts values of peace and humanity.
The incident comes amid rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with both sides exchanging accusations. While Afghanistan blames Pakistan, Islamabad denies targeting civilians, claiming it struck militant infrastructure.
