Actor Varun Dhawan recently revealed that his daughter Lara was diagnosed with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH), a condition affecting the hip joint in young children. He shared that early detection played a key role in her recovery journey.
What Is DDH And Its Impact
DDH occurs when the hip joint does not fit properly, making it unstable. This can lead to difficulty in walking or running and may cause long-term complications like arthritis if untreated. In Lara’s case, the condition created imbalance in her legs, affecting mobility.
Treatment And Recovery Journey
Dhawan said his daughter did not require surgery but underwent a medical procedure followed by wearing a spica cast for about two and a half months. Though challenging, the treatment helped correct the issue, and she is now recovering well.
Importance Of Early Diagnosis
The actor stressed that timely diagnosis is crucial for effective treatment. He also highlighted the need for greater awareness among parents in India, encouraging them to monitor their child’s physical development closely.
