Sant Kabir Nagar Voter List SIR Update: Online Reply to ‘No Mapping Notice’ Now Available from Home

Uttar Pradesh: In a major relief for voters, the district administration has introduced an online facility under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. Now, voters whose names could not be matched with the 2003 voter list and who were issued a “No Mapping Notice” can submit their reply from home, without visiting tehsil or district offices.

What has changed?

During the SIR process, after the draft voter list was published, many voters received No Mapping Notices because their records did not match with the 2003 electoral data.

Now, such voters can:

  • Log in to the Election Commission of India (ECI) official website
  • Upload the required documents online
  • Submit their response to the notice digitally

In special cases, family members can also respond on behalf of the voter, and any one of the 13 approved identity documents can be uploaded to resolve the issue.

Why was this change introduced?

Election officials said the online facility has been launched to ensure that no eligible voter is excluded from the voter list due to procedural hurdles. The move aims to make the verification process simpler, faster, and more accessible, especially in view of the upcoming elections.

Authorities believe this will improve transparency, participation, and accuracy in the voter list revision exercise.

Impact on voters

Earlier, voters who received such notices had to personally appear before election officials, which caused problems for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and working people. With the new online system, these difficulties have been significantly reduced.

The step is being widely seen as a voter-friendly reform and a move towards more inclusive electoral administration.

What should voters do now?

Voters are advised to:

  • Visit the Election Commission of India’s official portal
  • Check their name and notice status
  • Submit the required forms and documents online

This will help ensure that the final voter list is accurate, updated, and ready for elections, strengthening free and fair democratic participation.
