New Delhi: A 16-year-old Class 11 student was allegedly gang-raped inside a sleeper bus while travelling towards Delhi, raising serious concerns over the safety of women and minors travelling on private buses. The incident reportedly took place on August 4, 2026, during a journey towards Delhi. According to the preliminary details of the case, the teenager had boarded a private sleeper bus while trying to reach Delhi. The bus eventually reached the Kashmere Gate area, where the girl was reportedly left after the alleged incident.
Driver and Conductor Arrested
Police have arrested the bus driver and conductor in connection with the alleged crime. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and are collecting evidence to establish what happened during the journey. The bus has also been taken into custody as part of the investigation. Police are reportedly examining CCTV footage, the bus route and other available evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events.
