West Bengal: A shocking incident has emerged from Tarkeshwar where a 4-year-old girl was allegedly raped. According to the victim’s family, when they rushed to the local police station to file a complaint, officers allegedly refused to register an FIR immediately.
The child was later taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and subsequently referred to Chandannagar for further care. The family has accused the police of attempting to downplay the case and delay justice.
Local residents and opposition leaders have strongly condemned the incident, calling it another example of the deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal. They have demanded strict action against those responsible, both for the crime and for the alleged negligence of the authorities.
As per reports, the Tarkeshwar Police have not yet released an official statement regarding the case. However, public outrage continues to grow, with demands for accountability and justice for the minor victim.
Political leaders have also criticized the state administration, accusing it of shielding crimes to maintain a clean public image. Critics claim that such incidents highlight serious lapses in the state’s law enforcement and governance.
