Bihar: The Indian National Congress has convened a crucial high-level meeting to review its poor performance in the Bihar Assembly elections. The meeting will begin today at 3 PM at the party headquarters, Indira Bhawan, and will be attended by the state president, state in-charge, former CLP leaders, all MPs, MLAs, and all Congress candidates who contested the elections.
This will be the first formal interaction between the central leadership and Bihar leaders after the election results. The core agenda of the meeting is to critically analyse the reasons behind the party’s defeat and to chalk out future strategies. In the recently concluded Bihar elections, Congress managed to win only 6 seats.
All 61 Candidates to Submit Detailed Reports
All 61 candidates who represented the party, including the six winning MLAs, have been summoned to present detailed constituency-wise reports. These reports will highlight the factors responsible for their defeat, key local issues that influenced voters, and the organisational shortcomings that weakened the party’s performance. These insights will form the foundation for restructuring the party’s electoral strategy in Bihar.
7 Leaders Expelled for Six Years
Meanwhile, the Congress leadership has taken strict disciplinary action against leaders involved in anti-party activities. While 43 leaders were issued show-cause notices, 7 have now been expelled from the party’s primary membership for six years.
The expelled leaders include:
- Aditya Paswan, former Vice President, Congress Seva Dal
- Shakeelur Rahman, former Vice President, Bihar Congress
- Rajkumar Sharma, former President, Kisan Congress
- Rajkumar Rajan, former President, Pradesh Youth Congress
- Kundan Gupta, former President, Extremely Backward Cells Department
- Kanchana Kumari, President, Banka District Congress Committee
- Ravi Golden, Nalanda District leader
The party stated that this disciplinary action was necessary to maintain organisational discipline and strengthen internal unity.
