The Indian Premier League (IPL) has confirmed the registration of 1,355 players for the 2026 season. Among them, 45 cricketers have entered the highest base-price bracket of ₹2 crore. This group includes Australia’s Cameron Green, England’s Liam Livingstone, India’s Ravi Bishnoi and Venkatesh Iyer, and Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana and Wanindu Hasaranga.
The registration process closed on 30 November, and the mini-auction is scheduled for 16 December in Abu Dhabi. IPL authorities have already circulated the complete longlist to all franchises. With each team allowed a maximum squad strength of 25, only 77 slots remain vacant this season, including 31 for overseas players.
Cameron Green Emerges as the Most Anticipated Pick
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is expected to be one of the most sought-after players in this auction. After being absent from the previous mega-auction due to a back injury, Green has now entered the pool with significant interest from major teams. CSK and KKR, both holding strong purse balances and an overseas slot, are seen as leading contenders.
KKR, in particular, may target Green as they look for a powerful all-rounder following Andre Russell’s recent retirement from the IPL.
