Badshah Tateeree Controversy: Haryana Women’s Commission Orders FIR and Arrest of Rapper

Haryana Panel Orders Action Against Badshah

Popular rapper Badshah has landed in legal trouble after the Haryana State Commission for Women ordered his arrest over the controversial Haryanvi song “Tateeree.” The directive came after the singer failed to appear before the commission despite receiving a notice to explain the lyrics and visuals used in the track.

FIR and Passport Seizure Recommended

The commission asked the police to register an FIR and also recommended seizing Badshah’s passport to prevent him from leaving the country while the investigation continues. Authorities said multiple complaints had been filed claiming that the song contains objectionable content that allegedly disrespects women.

Why the Song Sparked Controversy

“Tateeree” faced backlash soon after its release, with critics accusing the music video and lyrics of promoting indecent or offensive imagery. The controversy intensified after complaints were filed in several districts in Haryana, leading to legal action against the rapper.

Badshah Issues Apology

Following the backlash, Badshah publicly apologised and the song was removed from several digital platforms. However, the legal proceedings continue as authorities review the complaints and determine the next course of action.
