Srinagar : An IndiGo aircraft operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar was involved in a ground incident at Srinagar International Airport on Friday morning after it came into contact with a parking guidance pole while being manoeuvred into its designated bay. The incident involved IndiGo flight 6E 225, which was being positioned at Bay No. 6 at around 9:02 AM after landing at the airport. The aircraft came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole during the parking process.
No Injuries Reported
All passengers and crew members on board the aircraft were reported safe. No injuries were reported following the incident. Passengers and crew were safely deboarded from the aircraft using manual stairs. Airport operations continued normally, with other arrivals and departures operating as scheduled.
Aircraft Grounded for Inspection
The aircraft sustained damage during the contact with the parking stand pole and has been grounded for necessary maintenance and inspection. The airline said the relevant authorities were informed immediately and an investigation into the incident is underway. The aircraft will return to service only after the required maintenance work and clearances are completed.
