Famous Vrindavan (Mathura) storyteller Indresh Upadhyay is set to tie the knot on 5 December in Jaipur. The three-day wedding celebrations are being held at Taj Amer Hotel, where the mehendi and haldi ceremonies will take place today. Several celebrities, including Bollywood singer B Praak, are expected to attend the functions.
On Wednesday, the traditional ‘Mayra–Bhaat’ ceremony was organised at the hotel’s Kundan Van area. Renowned storyteller Jaya Kishori also attended the event. Indresh Upadhyay will marry Shipra Sharma, a resident of Yamunanagar (Haryana), following Vedic rituals on Friday between 10 AM and 1 PM.
To maintain privacy and avoid crowd gatherings, the family has issued strict instructions to all guests not to post any photos or videos on social media. According to Upadhyay, sharing visuals may alert devotees, leading to large crowds which could be difficult to manage.
The venue has enforced a complete ban on video recording and photography. Additional security teams have been deployed to ensure crowd control and smooth arrangements. Wedding invitations were also sent along with holy prasad from major temples of Vrindavan Dham, symbolising spiritual blessings for the ceremony.
