Jaipur, Rajasthan: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for investment projects worth ₹4 lakh crore at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura. The event marked a major milestone under the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024, as Shah also inaugurated and launched 1,100 development projects worth ₹9,600 crore.
Addressing a large gathering, Shah lauded the Bhajan Lal Sharma-led BJP government for its remarkable progress in implementing investment agreements. He said,
“When the Rising Rajasthan Summit was held, former CM Ashok Gehlot had questioned how many of the ₹35 lakh crore MoUs would actually materialize. Today, I want to tell him — this is a BJP government, not a Congress one. We do what we promise.”
Shah further added that in a very short time, the Bhajan Lal government has successfully grounded ₹7 lakh crore worth of MoUs out of the ₹35 lakh crore signed during the summit. “This is a huge achievement,” he said, expressing confidence that Rajasthan’s implementation rate would surpass the national average of investment projects realized on the ground.
Amit Shah Inaugurates Exhibition on New Criminal Laws
Before the investment event, Amit Shah inaugurated a state-level exhibition at JECC, celebrating one year of India’s three new criminal laws — the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). These laws, which came into effect on July 1, 2024, aim to modernize India’s criminal justice system.
Shah’s visit to Jaipur marks his third visit to Rajasthan within three months, reflecting the central government’s growing focus on the state’s governance and development.
PM Surya Ghar Yojana Launched
During the ceremony, Amit Shah also launched the registration for the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, which provides 150 units of free electricity to beneficiaries under the central government’s solar initiative. The scheme aims to promote sustainable energy use and reduce household electricity costs.
