Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday, along with Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant and DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma, inspected the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the Pink City on Monday.
According to BJP party sources, Amit Shah is scheduled to attend multiple programmes in Jaipur and may also hold a crucial meeting with former CM Vasundhara Raje, who has recently increased her public outreach activities. The possibility of this meeting has fueled political speculation amid ongoing talks of a cabinet expansion in Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated conference of SPs and District Collectors titled ‘Viksit Rajasthan 2047: Sankalp se Sushasan Chintan aur Samiksha Shivir’, which Shah was earlier expected to inaugurate, has been indefinitely postponed. The two-day event was aimed at reviewing the state’s developmental progress and strengthening law and order mechanisms.
Though the state government did not specify any reason for the postponement, the rest of Amit Shah’s schedule remains unchanged. The Home Minister will inaugurate a state-level exhibition marking one year of the implementation of India’s new criminal laws.
Amit Shah’s Jaipur visit comes at a politically charged time, with intense lobbying within the Rajasthan BJP over the long-awaited cabinet reshuffle. Sources suggest that the cabinet expansion could be announced shortly after Shah’s visit, setting the stage for major administrative and political developments in Rajasthan.
