Indian Railways Offers 3% Discount on General Tickets Booked via RailOne App

Indian Railways has announced a 3% fare discount on unreserved (general) tickets booked through the RailOne app. The offer will be valid for six months, from 14 January 2026 to 14 July 2026, aiming to encourage passengers to shift to digital ticketing and reduce congestion at ticket counters.

The Railway Ministry confirmed that it has instructed the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) to update the software accordingly. Notably, this discount will apply to all digital payment modes, including UPI, debit/credit cards, and net banking—not just the R-Wallet.

Double Benefit for R-Wallet Users

Currently, passengers booking tickets through the RailOne app using R-Wallet already receive a 3% cashback. With the new policy, such users will now get an additional 3% discount, making the total benefit 6% when booking via RailOne.

Discount Available Only on RailOne App

Railway officials clarified that this benefit will be exclusive to the RailOne app. Passengers booking unreserved tickets through other platforms or websites will not be eligible for the discount. The move is aimed at promoting the official app and reducing queues at railway counters.

RailOne: A One-Stop Railway App

The RailOne app is designed as a one-stop digital solution for railway passengers. Available on both Android and iOS, it allows users to:

  • Book unreserved tickets
  • Manage refunds easily
  • Track ticket status
  • Access services using a single login via mPIN or biometric authentication

The app also simplifies cancellation and refund processes, helping passengers avoid long queues at stations.

Railway officials said the initiative aligns with the government’s push toward digital payments, convenience, and efficient passenger services.
