Jaipur, October 18: In a major success for the Jaipur Police (West Division), the Vaishali Nagar Police Station has busted an inter-state gang involved in multiple cases of motorcycle theft and house burglaries. Two key accused — Darshan Singh and Jarnail Singh, both from Madhya Pradesh — have been arrested, and stolen goods worth approximately ₹35 lakh along with a stolen motorcycle have been recovered from their possession.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Jaipur West), Hanuman Prasad, IPS, the operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional DCP Alok Singhal and the direction of ACP Vaishali Nagar, Alok Gautam. The police team, led by Inspector Rajesh Kumar Singh (Station House Officer, Vaishali Nagar), included Sub-Inspector Ishwar Singh, Head Constable Bharat (336 DST), Constables Rakesh (3879 DST), Mukut (9724 DST), Deepchand (11209), Suresh Chand (9211), and Ashish Kumar (10939).
During the investigation of case number 399/2025 under Sections 305(A) and 331(4) of BNS, the team analyzed over 300 CCTV footages and developed leads through local intelligence. Acting on a special tip-off, police tracked down the suspects, who confessed during interrogation that they had committed 27 house burglaries and 17 motorcycle thefts across Jaipur city.
The arrested duo was already wanted in several police stations — including Vaishali Nagar, Chitrakoot, Shyam Nagar, Patrakar Colony, Karni Vihar, Sodala, Sadar, Shastri Nagar, Bhatta Basti, and Vidhyadhar Nagar. Multiple FIRs (Nos. 447/24, 167/2025, 175/25, 202/2025, 204/25, 399/2025, and 207/25) were registered against them in Jaipur city.
Modus Operandi
The accused traveled from Madhya Pradesh to Jaipur by bus, stayed in local hotels, and used master keys to steal motorcycles at night. They then surveyed residential colonies, identified locked or vacant houses, and broke in during the late hours to commit theft. The duo confessed to using the stolen valuables to fund their drug and alcohol addiction and luxurious lifestyle. After each operation, they abandoned the stolen motorcycles in isolated areas before fleeing back to Madhya Pradesh.
Recovered Property
The police recovered several stolen items, including:
- A gold borli (ornament) and gold earrings
- Silver anklets, coins, and utensils
- Gold rings, bangles, and chains embedded with white stones
- An Oppo mobile phone
The total value of recovered property is estimated at ₹35 lakh.
Arrested Accused
- Darshan Singh (40), son of Late Ram Singh, resident of Inpoon Bhogawa village, Tehsil Punasa, District Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh.
- Jarnail Singh (35), son of Late Azad Singh, resident of Kalapatha village, Tehsil Kannoj, District Dewas, Madhya Pradesh.
Outstanding Police Work
A special mention goes to Constable Deepchand (No. 11209) of Vaishali Nagar Police Station, who played a crucial role in tracking, detaining, and arresting the accused, and recovering the stolen property. It is noteworthy that Deepchand has previously solved several major cases in the Vaishali Nagar area, showcasing his commitment and excellence in investigation.
The Jaipur Police continue to take strong action against habitual offenders to ensure citizens’ safety and reduce theft incidents across the city.
