Gujrat: A major fire broke out on Wednesday morning in a commercial complex in the Kalanala area of Bhavnagar, Gujarat, triggering chaos as thick smoke rapidly engulfed multiple hospitals located inside the building.
According to officials, the blaze started in the basement and quickly spread through the structure, prompting an immediate evacuation of patients from 3–4 hospitals, including children and elderly people. Local residents rushed to help, assisting in rescuing people trapped inside.
Fire brigade teams reached the site promptly. At Nice Children’s Hospital, firefighters broke windows on the first floor and used ladders to safely bring children out. The teams managed to control the fire in time, preventing a bigger tragedy.
Authorities confirmed that no casualties have been reported. Smoke had filled several sections of the building, forcing doctors and staff to shift all patients to safer facilities.
