A new video of terrorist Dr. Umar, who carried out the November 10 suicide blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, has surfaced. According to media reports, the clip was recorded before the attack and shows Umar speaking in broken English, claiming the act was a “martyrdom operation,” not a suicide attempt — indicating the strike was pre-planned.
Dr. Umar detonated an explosive-laden Hyundai i20 car, killing 15 people and injuring over 20 others. Eight individuals have been arrested so far, including six doctors, as agencies work to identify the remaining members and technical support network of the module.
Meanwhile, the investigation has revealed a major twist. The NIA disclosed that the terror group initially planned a Hamas-style attack using drones and rockets, inspired by the 7 October 2023 assault on Israel.
The breakthrough came after the arrest of Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, a resident of Anantnag’s Qazigund. Danish, who has technical expertise in modifying small weaponised drones, reportedly assisted Umar and was working on plans to drop bombs via drones in crowded areas.
