Uttarakhand Sees Record-Breaking Cold
Cold wave conditions have intensified in the hilly regions after fresh snowfall. In Munsiyari (Pithoragarh), the temperature plunged to minus 19°C on Friday night. By Saturday morning, waterfalls in Chhidkani were frozen, and water pipelines in Chamoli, Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag also froze due to the severe chill.
Rajasthan Hit by Icy Winds, Cold Wave Alert in 13 Districts
Cold winds blowing from the mountains have pushed temperatures down sharply in Rajasthan. The weather department has issued fog and cold wave alerts in 13 districts. Jaisalmer remained the coldest city on Friday with the minimum temperature touching 4.6°C.
Bihar Wrapped in Dense Fog, Visibility Drops to 10 Meters
In Bihar, 32 districts are under the grip of dense fog, with visibility falling to around 10 meters in several areas. The cold spell is expected to continue for at least a week, and in 16 districts, temperatures have already dropped below 7°C.
Uttar Pradesh: Trains and Flights Disrupted Due to Fog
Fog covered around 30 cities in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning, badly affecting transport services. More than 50 trains are running late at stations like Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Varanasi, with some delayed by up to 10 hours. Several flights at Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Varanasi airports were also delayed.
Madhya Pradesh Nights Turn Colder, Fog in Over 15 Districts
Night temperatures have dropped significantly in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain and Jabalpur. On Saturday morning, dense fog was reported in more than 15 districts. Similar weather conditions are likely to persist for the next two days.
