Jaipur : Rajasthan cricket witnessed a day of mixed fortunes on the domestic circuit, with contrasting results across three major tournaments — the Ranji Trophy 2025–26, the BCCI Women’s Under-19 T20 Trophy, and the C.K. Nayudu Trophy (Under-23).
Ranji Trophy: Rajasthan Struggle in Srinagar as Ashok Sharma Shines on Debut
In the Ranji Trophy 2025–26 match being played between Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar, the visiting Rajasthan side faced tough conditions on the second day.
Rajasthan were bowled out for 152 runs in their first innings, while Jammu & Kashmir replied strongly with 282 all out, taking a vital first-innings lead of 130 runs.
For Rajasthan, the bowling attack showed some resistance — Deepak Chahar (4/39), Aniket Choudhary (3/65), and debutant Ashok Sharma (3/69) impressed with their disciplined spells.
By the end of Day 2, Rajasthan were 41/5 in their second innings, still trailing by 89 runs. The team will need a remarkable comeback with the bat to stay in the contest when play resumes on Day 3.
Women’s U19 T20 Trophy: Tanika Sharma’s Fiery Fifty Leads Rajasthan to Victory
At Bhubaneswar, the Rajasthan Under-19 Women’s team registered a comfortable win over Jammu & Kashmir in the ongoing BCCI Women’s U19 T20 Trophy.
Batting first, Rajasthan posted a strong total of 152/6, thanks to an explosive half-century by Tanika Sharma (60 runs). She was well supported by Pratiksha Singh (44) and Happy Kumari (21).
In reply, Jammu & Kashmir could manage only 89/8, as Rajasthan’s bowlers dominated from the start. Meenakshi (2/13) bowled an economical spell, while Happy Kumari, Maina Siwal, and A. Choudhary took one wicket each.
This win reflects the growing strength of Rajasthan’s women’s cricket, with Tanika Sharma emerging as one of the most promising young batters in the tournament.
U23 C.K. Nayudu Trophy: Hyderabad Post 281/5 on Day One Against Rajasthan
Meanwhile, at Jaipur, the Rajasthan Under-23 team began their C.K. Nayudu Trophy campaign against Hyderabad.
Batting first, Hyderabad finished Day 1 at 281/5, powered by a brilliant century from Aravalli Avnish (134). Contributions also came from Raghav (48), Mayank Gupta (34 not out), and Pranav (29 not out).For Rajasthan, Ganesh Suthar (3/29) was the pick of the bowlers, while Mohan Changra and Aniruddh Singh claimed one wicket apiece. Rajasthan will look to fight back when they come out to bat on Day 2.
