Renault Unveils 3rd Generation Duster with Hybrid Engine, Advanced Safety and Premium Interior

French automaker Renault has unveiled the third-generation Renault Duster, marking the return of one of India’s most popular mid-size SUVs with a completely new design, hybrid technology, and advanced safety features.

The new Duster is built on an updated platform and comes with significant upgrades in performance, interior comfort, and technology, targeting the highly competitive SUV segment in India.

Hybrid Engine and Powertrain Options

The highlight of the new Renault Duster is the introduction of a strong hybrid powertrain, making it one of the few SUVs in its segment to offer electrified technology. The hybrid variant features a 1.8-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 1.4 kWh battery, delivering improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

In addition to the hybrid option, Renault is offering multiple engine choices including:

  • Turbo TCe 100 petrol engine
  • Turbo TCe 160 petrol engine (up to 163 PS power and 280 Nm torque)

These options ensure a balance between performance and efficiency for different driving needs.

Design and Exterior Upgrades

The third-generation Duster gets a completely refreshed and rugged design, featuring:

  • Bold front grille and LED lighting setup
  • High ground clearance of around 212 mm
  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Strong SUV stance with muscular body lines

The design reflects a more modern and premium appeal compared to previous versions.

Interior and Features

Inside the cabin, Renault has significantly upgraded the interior quality and technology. The SUV now offers:

The new Duster also offers a spacious cabin with up to 700 litres of boot space, making it practical for families and long trips.

Safety has been a major focus in the new Duster. The SUV comes equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and multiple safety technologies, including:

Launch, Booking and Availability

The new Renault Duster has already generated strong interest among buyers. Bookings have begun, and deliveries for petrol variants are expected to start soon, while the hybrid version is likely to arrive later in 2026.

With this launch, Renault aims to compete with popular SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and other mid-range models. The addition of hybrid technology, premium features, and improved safety could give the Duster a strong edge in the segment.
