Akshay Kumar Confirms Hera Pheri 3 Not Happening Currently, Reveals Reasons Behind Delay

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has revealed that the much-awaited film Hera Pheri 3 is currently not moving forward, leaving fans disappointed. The actor shared this update during a recent conversation on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel.

The Hera Pheri franchise, known for its cult comedy status, has been eagerly anticipated by audiences for years. However, Akshay’s latest statement suggests that the project is still stuck in development due to multiple unresolved issues.

Akshay Kumar Admits Fans Are Disappointed

During the interview, Akshay Kumar openly acknowledged that the news might come as a shock to fans. He admitted that even he was equally surprised when he learned about the delays surrounding the project.

The actor emphasized that while people often speculate about casting issues being the primary reason behind the delay, the reality is far more complex.

“It’s not just about the cast. There are several other issues because of which the film is not moving ahead,” Akshay said during the interaction.

No Issues Among the Lead Cast

Addressing rumors about conflicts between actors, Akshay clarified that there are no problems between the core trio of the franchise—himself, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal.

To support his point, he mentioned their collaboration in the upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle, where all three actors are working together.

This statement effectively dismisses long-standing speculation that differences among the actors were responsible for the delay of Hera Pheri 3.

“Some Things Can’t Be Said Publicly”

Akshay Kumar further hinted that there are certain behind-the-scenes complications that cannot be disclosed publicly. He referred to agreements, contractual matters, and other internal challenges that are holding back the project.

“There are some things which I cannot talk about on camera,” he said, indicating that legal or production-related issues might be involved.

Such statements have fueled curiosity among fans, as the actor refrained from going into specifics while clearly acknowledging the existence of deeper problems.

A Long-Delayed Project

The journey of Hera Pheri 3 has been anything but smooth. Over the years, the project has faced multiple hurdles, including casting uncertainties and production delays.

At one point, reports suggested that Paresh Rawal had stepped away from the film, raising concerns among fans. However, he later rejoined the project, bringing some relief to audiences hoping for the original trio’s reunion.

Despite these developments, the film has still not been able to move into active production.

Legacy of the Hera Pheri Franchise

The Hera Pheri franchise holds a special place in Indian cinema, particularly in the comedy genre.

The first film, Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan, was released in 2000 and became an instant hit. Its unique humor, memorable dialogues, and iconic characters like Raju, Shyam, and Baburao turned it into a cult classic.

The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, directed by Neeraj Vora, released in 2006 and further cemented the franchise’s popularity.

Over the years, both films have gained massive fan followings, especially among younger audiences through television reruns and internet memes.

Will Hera Pheri 3 Ever Happen?

Despite the current setback, Akshay Kumar did not rule out the possibility of Hera Pheri 3 being made in the future. He expressed hope that once the ongoing issues are resolved, the project could eventually take off.

In a light-hearted remark, Akshay joked that he hopes the film gets made before the cast becomes “too old,” reflecting both optimism and humor.

Impact on Fans and Industry

The delay of Hera Pheri 3 has disappointed millions of fans who have been eagerly waiting for the return of the beloved trio. The franchise is considered one of Bollywood’s most iconic comedy series, and expectations for the third installment have always been high.

From an industry perspective, the delay also highlights the complexities involved in bringing legacy sequels to life. Issues related to rights, scripts, production houses, and contracts often play a crucial role in delaying big projects.
