Petrol, LPG and Milk Prices Change From April 1, 2026: What Gets Costlier

The new financial year beginning April 1, 2026 has brought price revisions in several essential items, impacting both households and businesses across India.

Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Increase

Oil marketing companies have hiked the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹195.50. In Delhi, the new price stands at ₹2,078.50. This increase will mainly affect restaurants, hotels, and small businesses that rely on commercial gas.

Domestic (household) LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged this month.

Premium Petrol and Diesel Prices Revised

Regular petrol and diesel prices have stayed mostly stable. However, premium fuel variants saw increases. Indian Oil raised the price of XP100 petrol in Delhi from ₹149 to ₹160 per litre. Premium diesel variants also witnessed marginal hikes.

These changes primarily impact owners of high-performance vehicles that use premium fuels.

Milk Prices Rise in Some Regions

Milk prices have been increased in several states and cities due to higher production and input costs (such as cattle feed and transportation). In some areas, retail prices rose by ₹2 to ₹4 per litre.

Impact on Consumers

While regular petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG prices did not see major nationwide changes, the hikes in commercial LPG, premium fuels, and milk are expected to push up costs for businesses and households indirectly through higher food and service prices.

Analysts expect fuel-related adjustments to continue influencing inflation depending on global crude oil trends and geopolitical developments.
