Mass Layoffs Shake Oracle Workforce
US-based tech giant Oracle has reportedly laid off nearly 30,000 employees worldwide, with India emerging as one of the worst-hit regions. Around 12,000 employees in India lost their jobs as part of the company’s large-scale restructuring exercise.
Employees Notified Through Sudden Emails
Many employees received termination emails early in the morning, informing them that their roles had become redundant due to organisational changes. The layoffs impacted a significant portion of Oracle’s approximately 30,000-strong workforce in India.
More Job Cuts Expected Soon
Reports suggest that Oracle may conduct another round of layoffs within a month. The move is linked to efforts to streamline operations and shift investments towards artificial intelligence and infrastructure expansion.
